The Chinese selenium 99.9%min market remained sluggish in October with buyers from the ceramics and glass industries purchasing from hand to mouth. At the beginning of October, the mainstream prices of the material dropped from RMB375-405/kg (USD61.1-66.0/kg) to RMB375-395 (USD61.1-64.4/kg). However, due to the stockpiling by certain exchanges the price of selenium dioxide rose to RMB380-400/kg (USD61.9-65.2/kg). In the case of selenium dioxide, with manganese market remain sluggish, mainstream prices for the material slipped back to RMB267-277/kg (USD43.5-45.1/kg).
Meanwhile, the Chinese tellurium 99.99%min continued to slip in October. Most of the trading was concluded via long-term contracts with only sporadic deals being made as customers continued to purchase from hand to month in small volumes. The weaker downstream demand resulted in the price of tellurium 99.99% declining by RMB45/kg (USD7.3/kg) to RMB690-720/kg (USD112.5-117.4/kg).
