In October，nickel cathodes prices dropped sharply in the first three weeks and rebounded in the last week of the month. The Philippines already entered into rainy season and nickel ore supply declined sharply in October, and it will continue falling in the following months. Ferronickel price dropped by RMB200-260/mtu (USD33-42/mtu), and most of small ferronickel plants halted production and watched the market. Nickel ore price did not drop as much as ferronickel prices, and thus nickel ore market was sluggish and witnessed few deals. Nickel sulfate prices dropped over RMB3,000/t (USD490/t) during October.
