The construction steel market had a hard time during so-called golden September with prices for wire rod and rebar on the decline. Both steel mills and traders were facing heavy financial pressures after banks began cutting back on loans to the industry. As for the market prospects in October, insiders predict that things will remain calm because there will be only 19 working days after the seven-day National Day holiday and demand from downstream buyers will be slow to release.
