In the first half of August, the Chinese vanadium market remained sluggish. Later in the month, in response to the increase in vanadium pentoxide prices, many steel mills marginally increased their ferrovanadium purchasing prices for September. However, as the supply of vanadium nitride was abundant, the prices kept going down. Many producers of vanadium nitride suffered great losses. Although Chinese ferrovanadium and vanadium pentoxide prices went up slightly, demand remained weak with few deals concluded. Meanwhile, the Chinese vanadium export market remained quiet and many foreign buyers were unable to accept offers from China.
