In August, Chinese tantalum and niobium market remained soft. On the one hand, demand from end users showed no signs of rebounding and many consumers remained out of the market. They were in no rush to make purchases. On the other hand, tantalum and niobium concentrate import market was stagnant. Domestic tantalum and niobium smelters refused to buy the materials at higher prices while overseas suppliers held their offers firm to wait for the rebounding of demand. As a result, tantalum and niobium market remained quiet with rare transactions concluded in the spot market.
