It was the slack season for the battery industry and lithium market in June and lithium production during the month benefited from the high temperatures, resulting in a boosted output of lithium salts. Meanwhile demand for lithium carbonate eased off with the arrival of the off-season for the battery industry, causing the price of lithium salts to dip. Moreover, the prices of imported spodumene will increase to USD395-400/t CIF in the third quarter and suppliers explained that demand for the raw materials was good and supply is likely to become tighter in the second half year.
