The Chinese selenium market witnessed fewer transactions in May, as operating rates for manganese flakes slipped in China, while demand from other downstream industries such as glass and ceramics remained flat
Mainstream prices for Chinese tellurium 99.99% held up in the range of RMB785-835/kg (USD125 . 6-133.6/kg) in May, and the market ended up seeing sporadic deals, since most downstream buyers continued to make hand to mouth purchases . Nevertheless, suppliers would not accept price reductions in view of high costs.
. As a result, selenium 99.9% and selenium dioxide prices dropped constantly to RMB370-400/kg (USD59 . 2-64.0/kg) and RMB245-255/kg (USD39 . 2-40.8/kg) respectively.
