Mainstream prices of Chinese selenium 99.9% and selenium dioxide dropped by RMB40/kg (USD6.4/kg) and RMB80/kg (USD12.7/kg) respectively to RMB400-450/kg (USD63.6-71.6/kg) and RMB270-280/kg (USD42.9-44.5/kg) in March, as demand from manganese flake plants was weakened and supply of the materials increased in the market. Consumers just made purchases from hand to mouth in view of the downward prices, which lead to fewer transactions throughout the month.
On the contrary, Chinese tellurium 99.99% prices climbed up by RMB20/kg (USD3.2/kg) to RMB780-830/kg (USD124-132.0/kg) in March. Suppliers reported steady demand from downstream industries, and they were optimistic about the future market with firm offers.
