European cobalt metal price keeps moving up strongly, and market participants come back the market to reserve stocks. Therefore downstream demand increase sharply. As cobalt supply is tightening in Africa impacted by powers issues, price continues to increase. Market participants worried about cobalt price will increase further, they rush to buy large quantities of materials. However, Chinese cobalt market seems quieter compared with the European market. Most of Chinese market participants just return to the market and shows no interests to replenish stocks, so cobalt price is relatively stable in China.
