Many manganese flake plants ceased or reduced production in early February during the Spring Festival holiday. So supply of spot goods became tight after buyers came back for purchases in mid-February, which led to prices increasing by RMB150/t (USD24/t) to RMB12,500-12,800/t (USD2,006-2,054/t), before they stabilised late in the month
. In addition, Australian manganese ore 43-44% prices moved down by RMB0.5/mtu (USD0.08/mtu) to RMB36 . 5-37.5/mtu (USD5 . 86-6.02/mtu) in China during February, due to continuing weak demand from downstream industries.
