Early December, the price for antimony ingot 99.65%min in China dipped by RMB500/t (USD83/t) to RMB56,500-59,000/t (USD9,339-9,752/t), because suppliers wanted to get cash back at the end of the fiscal year. After a big Asian antimony trioxide producer (who purchased lot of antimony ingot in the previous months, but did pay by cash) made most payments in December, most antimony ingot producers eased the capital turnover pressure, additionally, the supply of antimony ore was tight and price was firm in winter after Russian and Northern Chinese (Gansu, Qinghai, Tibet and Xinjiang) antimony mines stopped exploration, so antimony ingot producers raised their offers gradually to 57,500-60,000/t (USD9,504-9,917/t) from mid-December and the price kept at this level till the end of the month.
For antimony trioxide 99.5%min, the price decreased by RMB500/t (USD83/t) to RMB51,000-53,000/t (USD8,430-8,760/t) ex works in the beginning of the month, and stayed at that level till late December . Most downstream users made purchase from hand to mouth and some consumers purchased the material for the production during the Spring Festival holiday (early February).
