Though prices of raw materials showed an upward trend this month, the price of stainless scrap in China kept generally stable. When it entered the end of the year, most downstream customers burdened heavier capital pressure as banks restrained loans to them. Besides, orders were insufficient. Consequently, the demand for stainless scrap shrank much and the market performed inactively. Not being confident of the coming market, most traders refused to build large stocks. Insiders do not think the price will change much in the coming month when more and more end users will retreat from the market for the Spring Festival (January 31st, 2014).
