Zircon sand market becomes very sluggish in September with few deals concluded and demand dropping greatly. The offer remains USD1,300-1,350/t CIF for Australian zircon sand 66%min, but few deals concluded at the price higher than USD1,300/t. In view of the pessimistic market situation, some consumers would rather purchase at RMB9,200-9,500/t for Australian zircon sand 66%min in spot market.

As the consequence of the declining demand from ceramic, zirconium silicate sales volume drops greatly in September. Some producer’s sales volume reduces by 1/3 or some even drop by 1/2. The market situation is gloomy with price decreasing to RMB9,800-10,300/t from RMB10,000-10,500/t in September.

The market doesn’t show any improvement in September for zirconium oxychloride. For most producers, the market becomes more severe as sales volume drops greatly in September and most producers hold stocks now. the price declines to RMB9,000-9,500/t from RMB9,200-9,700/t for zirconium oxychloride 36%min in September.
