Prices of seamless pipe kept unchanged in Tianjin and Guangzhou this month, while they rose slightly in Shanghai. Though mills in Shandong Province lifted ex-works prices by around RMB200/t due to the electricity rationing, the market price failed to go up significantly dragged by the slim demand from downstream industries. Besides, most traders were not so confident of the coming market and they were cautious of supplementing inventories, thus the market inventory ran at a low level. Insiders deem the price is likely to go up slightly in September when low costs materials are sold out and higher costs ones arrive.
