Prices of wire rod and rebar in most domestic markets experienced an up-down trend in August, which was still the traditional slow season. Prices of raw materials went up in the first half of the month and kept unchanged or decreased slightly in the second half. However, the demand from downstream buyers remained unreleased all through the month. Meanwhile, steel mills were short of confidence in the coming market in September with unchanged price for September production and the output of crude steel did not show many clues of decreasing, so insiders predict that prices of wire rod and rebar will go down slightly further in the following month.
