Chinese steel plate prices moved up continuously in most leading markets during this month like Shanghai, Guangzhou and Tianjin, driven by higher ex-works prices and low inventory, but the markup narrowed a lot compared with that in July. The average price for Q235B 20mm in Chinese key cities went up by RMB42/t month on month from RMB3,655/t (VAT included) to RMB3,697/t (VAT included), while the markup was RMB92/t in July
. With good expectations of demand release, insiders deem that the price is likely to go up slightly in September.
