This month, prices of raw materials saw an upward trend. Affected by the high production cost, most steel mills lifted ex-works prices of HGI coil for September production. In addition, the inventory of HGI coil in Chinese prevailing markets was not running at a high level during that time. In consequence, prices of HGI coil in Chinese prevailing markets increased unexpectedly in the traditional dull season. As September is the traditional peak season for HGI coil consumption, demand from downstream industries will release to some degree. Insiders deem prices of HGI coil are likely to move up slightly in the coming month.
