In July, industries of lithium battery, glass ceramics, fine chemical engineering and oil grease entered into the traditional sluggish season. Market insiders in lithium battery industry reported that they focused on D&R and evaluating suppliers in July and demand from lithium battery industry decreased by around 15-20% MOM, according to market insiders. During July, consumers were inactive in buying and sentiment was low in general. In the first half of 2013, China imported more than 7,200t of lithium carbonate, up by above 20% YOY. In the first half of 2013, output of Tianqi Lithium, General Lithium (Jiangsu), Ni&Co kept relatively steady, while Galaxy Lithium (Jiangsu) and Qinghai Lithium expanded their output drastically. Lithium carbonate price fell little by little, especially the price of industrial grade lithium carbonate. Industrial grade Lithium carbonate price dropped by about 4% during July. At the same time, lithium chloride, lithium hydroxide and lithium metal prices were steady.
