Prices of welded pipe increased sharply this month stimulated by the price increase of raw materials such as steel billet and HR strip. In addition, the government input more on the environmental protection, which was positive policy for the steel market and some substandard mills were forced to close down. Most traders did not have large stocks and customers were also cautious when they place orders. However, Chinese average daily crude steel output rises in mid-Jul, which means that the oversupply was still serious in China. Under such a condition, insiders deem that the price of welded pipe is likely to be stable next month.
