BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Jul 13 - It is noted that 8 furnaces in Henan were put into production at the beginning of 2013, and there are another nearly 26 tilting furnaces planned to be built and put into production in 2013. However, most furnaces were delayed building in this depressed market.
It is estimated that the total capacity of brown fused alumina is around 3,600,000tpy (some insiders even believe the capacity is over 4,300,000tpy), while the output of brown fused alumina is around 1,400,000-1,500,000t in 2012. As the demand from steel industry is slow without any increase, and the brown fused alumina market faces oversupply. Asian Metal believes that it is hard for the enlarged capacity to put into production in 2013.
