South China entered the rainy season gradually in late May and early June and the operating rate for smelters increased, specially that in Yunnan and Sichuan. However, the power price for the rainy season currently is higher than that of last year and the raw materials’ prices are also a bit higher. As the market is not strong, the current operating rate for silicon metal smelters is lower compared with the same period of last year.
