Aluminum ingot price in Chinese market dropped down to record low levels even though it once rebounded in a short period of time. Chinese aluminum smelting plants suffered great losses. Some plants reduced losses by cutting production, and few did not survive the tough time. However, the new plants in Northwest China drove their smelting capacities on stream gradually, making the supply increase rather than decrease. The serious oversupply determines that the price is hard to rebound to favorable levels. Chinese aluminum industry needs real reformation.
