The silicon carbide market remained sluggish generally in May. Due to the slow economy grows, the demand from downstream consumers shrank. Like abrassives industry, refractories industry, steel mills and casting industry, all of them decreased their consumption for silicon carbide. Thus, there is a lot of inventory stocked in the spot market, especially the grade-one silicon carbide, while the grade-two silicon carbide showed little short supply in view of the big export volume. Silicon carbide export market saw more orders, but the price was in chaos ascribe to the disorder competition after the cancelation of export quotas.
