Influenced by the uprising international cadmium ingot prices, adding that the domestic consumers need to replenish raw materials, cadmium ingot prices in domestic market went up continuously from RMB16.5-17/kg in early May to RMB18-18.5/kg at the end of May.
International traders and the domestic cadmium ingot producers both raise their prices, until the end of May; the major domestic cadmium ingot smelters even quote RMB19/kg. However, seeing from the transactions in the market, although the cadmium ingot prices goes up, consumers do not show interest in replenishing stocks in large volume as they are not optimistic about the future market, so they hold a watchful attitude.
As the cadmium ingot prices going up, cadmium oxide prices also go up, at the end of May, the cadmium ingot 99.99% prices rise to RMB21/kg.
