Chinese steel plate prices moved down further on a national scale during this month, and the markdown was larger than that in April. The downstream demand saw no improvements and traders ran the business with lower inventories. The average price for Q235B 20mm in Chinese key cities moved down by RMB181/t month on month from RMB3,817/t (VAT included) to RMB3,636/t (VAT included). Without good news in the market, insiders deem that the steel plate price is likely to fall again in June.
