Domestic prices of wire rod and rebar kept a strong decreasing trend in May, although it was expected to be the high season. Prices of raw materials such as iron ore, scrap and billet all went down greatly and the demand from downstream buyers remained restrained, so both producers and traders cut prices continuously. Observers predict that prices of wire rod and rebar will go down further in June but the markdown would be limited.
