In May, steel price began to fall again, which cast a shadow for refractory market. Brown fused alumina still ran slowly with stable price, but nearly every producer was troubled by the payment delay for long time, and acceptance bill was considered to be the good payment terms. The export market was still quiet with a few orders as European consumers still bothered by the crisis and American consumers delayed procurement
White fused alumina price dropped by around RMB50-100/t again in May due to alumina price decrease. Export market also saw lower price, but the demand was still week without any improvement.
