The steel market kept dim in May and prices of all products were on the downward trend. The steel plate price dropped on a national scale in May due to no good news in the market to stimulate customers’ demand and the markdown was bigger than that in April. In June, which is known as a traditional low season, insiders deem that the steel plate market is hard to recover and the price rebound is hopeless due to serious oversupply, slower domestic economic growth, downward prices of raw materials and lower ex-works prices.
