Chinese steel plate prices moved down further on a national scale during this month, driven by the unreleased demand from downstream industries. Many steel mills like WISCO, Ansteel and Shaoguan Steel have decreased the ex-works price of steel plate for May production. In view of the slow economy both at home and abroad, insiders deem that the steel plate price is likely to fall in May but the markdown will narrow.
