The Chinese indium ingot market varied slightly due to prices increasing in February
. Influenced by the tight supply of crude indium, prices of indium ingot 99.99%min raised from RMB3,450-3,550/kg (USD554-571/kg) VAT included at the end of January to RMB3,500-3,600/kg (USD563-579/kg) VAT included in early February . However, demand from downstream industry remained weak and deals in the spot market were few . As there were few operators in the market during the Spring Festival holidays, deals of indium ingot became scarce . In late February, many companies came back to the market gradually . Prices of indium ingot 99.99%min reached to RMB3,520-3,620/kg (USD566-582/kg) VAT included at the end of February since suppliers of crude indium held their prices firm and producers’ production cost increased . Market participants stated that end users still lacked enthusiasm to make procurements while purchases from investors and traders increased a bit . In the meantime, prices in the overseas market also went up in February influenced by the speculations of investors and tight supply .
