Zircon sand market drops further after Chinese New Year, and the mainstream price for Australian zircon sand 66%min decreases to USD1,250-1,300/t from USD1,300-1,350/t and most consumers start to accept the price and purchase. The price for Australian zircon sand 66%min drops to RMB9,500-10,000/t from RMB10,000-10,500/t in Chinese spot market. Participants report that the sales volume increases late February.
As most ceramic producers have not yet to resume production, zirconium silicate producers are still in the holiday of Chinese New Year with only a few of producers start to produce just after the holiday. Consequently, zirconium silicate market becomes very quiet with the price dropping to RMB11,000-11,500/t for zirconium silicate 64.5%min from RMB12,000-12,500/t before the holiday.
Zirconium oxychloride market remains stable in February. Some producers report that the demand is increasing while the price remains unchanged at RMB10,000-10,500/t. Some producers even sell at RMB9,500/t and RMB9,800/t due to the great pressure from capital before Chinese New Year.
