Ansteel to construct new project in Zhoukou to eliminate or replace some iron & steel capacity

Ansteel decided to eliminate or replace some iron & steel capacity in Anyang as well as co-invest and establish a mixed ownership company with related social and Zhoukou enterprises to carry on the transferred or replaced iron & steel capacity of the company or inside and outside Henan province as well as to construct new projects in the gathering area of logistic industry in Zhoukou port. At present, Zhoukou city has constructed Ansteel industrial garden in the logistic industry gathering area in the port and planned iron & steel logistic garden.
According to Henan Industry and Information Committee’s Notice on Replacement of Some Serious Overcapacity Industry, combing the development plan of Henan iron & steel industry and the company’s actual situation, the main content of the capacity replacement is to eliminate 3 blast furnaces of 450 cubic meters and 3 converters of 35t in Anyang as well as 1 blast furnace of 2,200 cubic meters step by step according to the plan before completing the project, that is 3.52 million tons of iron capacity and 1.8 million tons of steel capacity totally; to construct 1 blast furnace of 1,860 cubic meters, 1 converter of 100t, 1 electric-arc furnace of 100t, a blast furnace of 2,000 cubic meters and its supporting facility.
