    BHP Billiton iron ore production update

    BHP Billiton’s commitment to invest through all phases of the economic cycle delivered an eleventh consecutive annual production record in iron ore.

    Western Australia Iron Ore benefited from the dual tracking of the company’s rail infrastructure, increasing overall system capability.

    Western Australia Iron Ore shipments rose to a record annualized rate of 155 million tonnes per annum in the June 2011 quarter.

    Samarco (Brazil) production recovered strongly following planned maintenance in the March 2011 quarter.
