ArcelorMittal's cumulative investment in Liberia is approaching US$4 billion, spanning mining operations, railways, port facilities, as well as power and social infrastructure.
The company expects its iron ore exports to exceed 20 million tons in 2027, compared with less than 5 million tons in 2024, while targeting longer-term annual mine production of 30 million tons.
Its Phase II expansion includes Liberia's first large-scale iron ore concentrator, which will produce premium-grade concentrate for international steelmakers, including plants adopting lower-carbon steelmaking technologies.
