Vale recently obtained authorization from the State Environment Foundation (FEAM), to construct a new Class 6 iron ore processing plant at the Fazendao mine in Minas Gerais.
The facility will process 21.8 million tons of ore per year to produce up to 12.6 million tons of fine concentrate, expanding processing capabilities beyond the existing plant's 6 million-ton annual capacity.
Construction will require hiring 3,603 workers, with priority given to professionals from local municipalities.
Processed concentrate will be transported via the Fazendao rail terminal along the Vitoria-Minas railway to the Port of Tubarao in Vitoria, Espirito Santo, for coastal shipment.
