On September 2, the Chizhou Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau launched the first round of public consultation for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of a comprehensive spent lithium ion battery recycling project proposed by Anhui Ruibo New Energy Material Technology Co., Ltd.
The project, with a total investment exceeding RMB400 million (USD59.59 million), is planned for the Dongzhi Economic Development Zone in Anhui Province. It will include multiple production lines designed to process lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs and recover battery grade materials such as nickel sulfate crystals, cobalt sulfate crystals, manganese sulfate, industrial grade lithium carbonate, and LFP black powder (containing lithium, iron, and phosphorus). By products will include copper granules, aluminum granules, sponge copper, sodium sulphate (Glauber's salt), sodium chloride, manganese carbonate, ferrous shells, magnetic and non magnetic materials, as well as iron aluminum and copper aluminum slags.
