Canadian iron ore output falls 3.8% in June

Canada produced 4,981,461 metric tons of iron ore concentrates in June 2026, reflecting a 3.8% decline from the previous month but a 6% increase compared to June 2025, according to data released by Statistics Canada.
Shipments of iron ore concentrates by Canadian producers totaled 2,884,491 metric tons in June, marking a 16.7% drop from May and a sharp 33.4% decrease year-over-year.
Meanwhile, closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers reached 9,110,066 metric tons in June, up 21.4% from May and 4.3% higher than in June 2025.
