EIA Draft released for 45ktpy cathode material project of Jiafude (Yantai)

On August 26, the Penglai Branch of the Yantai Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau made the draft environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for the 45,000tpy low-carbon new energy power battery cathode material project of Jiafude (Yantai) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. for public review.
The project is located at No. 5-3, Fengtaishan Road, Beigou Town, Penglai District, Yantai City, Shandong Province, with a planned investment of RMB1.501 billion (USD223.33 million). It will include the construction of production workshops, such as a raw material roasting workshop, two leaching workshops (Leaching Workshop 1 and Leaching Workshop 2), and a solvent extraction workshop, along with supporting auxiliary facilities.
Upon completion, the project will have production capacities of 6,000tpy of battery-grade lithium carbonate, 10,000tpy of battery-grade cobalt sulfate, 26,460tpy of battery-grade nickel sulfate, and 5,000tpy of battery-grade manganese sulfate. By-products will include 35,638tpy of sodium sulfate (Glauber's salt), 60tpy of cement copper, and 83tpy of magnesium fluoride.
