Ganfeng Lithium announced on August 24 that its subsidiary, Ganfeng International, signed a series of definitive key agreements with Lithium Argentina AG (LAR) for the joint development of the PPGS lithium brine project.
Under the agreements, the PPGS project will be consolidated into Millennial Lithium B.V., which is currently owned by Ganfeng International and LAR. Upon completion of the integration, Ganfeng International will hold a 67% stake in Millennial Lithium, while LAR will hold the remaining 33%, with both parties sharing the PPGS project interests proportionally. The integration process is expected to be concluded by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
The PPGS lithium brine project is planned to be developed in three phases, with a total designed production capacity of 150,000tpy of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE). In the first quarter of 2026, the project submitted an application for Argentina's Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI), which is anticipated to be approved by the end of this year.
