Lopal Technology disclosed recently that it had signed a supply agreement with LG Energy Solution (LGES) for LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cathode materials. The three year contract, effective from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028, sets an annual transaction cap of RMB9 billion (USD1.33 billion), with total cumulative value potentially reaching RMB27 billion (USD4.00 billion) over the term.
In a parallel arrangement, LGES will supply Lopal with lithium carbonate and other raw materials essential for producing LFP cathodes. This reverse supply stream carries an annual cap of RMB6 billion (USD889.88 million), or RMB18 billion (USD2.67 billion) over the three years – equivalent to approximately KRW3.75 trillion (RMB17.82 billion).
