Iron ore exports via Port Hedland fall 14.5% in July 2026

Iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totalled 44.22 million tonnes in July 2026, marking a 14.5% decline from June and a 3.8% drop compared with the same month last year, according to data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.
Shipments to China, the port's largest destination, amounted to 37.86 million tonnes, down 16.1% month-on-month and 2.9% year-on-year. South Korea and Japan ranked second and third, receiving 2.27 million tonnes and 2.06 million tonnes, respectively, during the month.
Meanwhile, iron ore shipments from Port Dampier totalled 12.59 million tonnes in July, reflecting a 7.2% month-on-month decline but a 4.3% increase year-on-year.
