Chijin Xiawu suspends operation of rare earth project in Laos

Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. announced on August 7 that its associate company, Chijin Xiawu, decided to suspend operation at the Mengkang rare earth project in Xiangkhouang Province, Laos. The project, located in Mengkang County, is currently in the trial mining phase.
In 2025, the Mengkang operation produced 998.56 metric tons of rare earth products. While the suspension will affect the associate's near-term output, Xiamen Tungsten emphasized that its core businesses – including tungsten and molybdenum, rare earths, and energy new materials – remain in sound operating condition. As the project is held through a non-consolidated associate, the company expects the impact on its overall financial performance to be limited.
