Port Hedland iron ore exports edge up 1.3% in June 2026 from May

Iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 51,710,492 metric tonnes in June 2026, reflecting a 1.3% increase month-on-month but a 5.3% decline compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.
Of the total, shipments to China reached 45.11 million metric tonnes, up 3.1% from May but down 8.2% year-on-year. South Korea and Japan ranked as the second and third largest destinations for the month, receiving 3.66 million metric tonnes and 1.57 million metric tonnes, respectively.
Meanwhile, iron ore shipments from Port Dampier totaled 13.56 million metric tonnes in June, marking a 13.6% increase month-on-month and a 4.3% rise year-on-year.
