Energy Exploration Technologies (EnergyX) announced on Monday that it has received a $225 million investment from Italian energy company Eni SpA, in exchange for a minority stake in the Black Giant lithium project located in Antofagasta, Chile.
According to EnergyX, the Black Giant project is designed to deliver up to 52,500 metric tons of lithium carbonate annually across its first two phases, with additional expansion potential through subsequent development stages.
As part of the agreement, Eni will be entitled to approximately 25% of the project's future lithium production. EnergyX also confirmed that it has secured additional offtake agreements to support future output from the project, reinforcing long-term demand visibility and strengthening supply chain integration.
