Premier African Minerals advances Zulu Project restart with flotation plant commissioning

Premier African Minerals has reached another key stage in the redevelopment of its Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project in Zimbabwe, with ore from the run-of-mine stockpile now being processed through the operation's newly commissioned flotation plant.
The company said early operating performance has met management expectations, although the optimisation process remains in its initial phase. Detailed information relating to recovery rates, throughput and overall plant efficiency has not yet been released as testing and performance assessments continue.
The start-up of the flotation circuit represents an important milestone in the planned restart of operations at Zulu and forms part of the company's efforts to restore lithium and tantalum production. Management is continuing to refine plant performance and gather operational data as commissioning activities progress.
Premier's Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project is located 80km from Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. The project is generally regarded as potentially the largest undeveloped lithium bearing pegmatite in Zimbabwe. Zulu Project comprises 14 mineral claims covering a surface area of 3.5 km2 which are prospective for lithium and tantalum mineralisation. The Zulu Project was first pegged in 1955 and intensely explored until the early 1960s. Minor petalite production was reported for 1961 and 1962.
Based on estimate report in October 2024, the project owns 11.601 Mt of measured & indicated mineral resources, 0.52% Li2O and 51.64g/t Ta2O5, containing 60,447 t of Li2O and 599,017kg of Ta2O5, as well as 13.240 Mt of inferred resource, 0.54% Li2O and 47.28g/t Ta2O5, containing 71,180 t of Li2O and 626,041kg of Ta2O5.
