Nature Energy Solutions, owned by Kazakh entrepreneur Shakhmurat Mutalip, has purchased a combined 39.3% stake in Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) from co-founder Patokh Chodiev and the heirs of the late Alexander Machkevitch, the company said on May 22.
The deal gives Nature Energy an 18.6% holding acquired from Chodiev and a 20.7% stake from Machkevitch's heirs.
ERG said all of its enterprises continue to operate normally following the ownership change.
The group produces ferroalloys, copper, cobalt, aluminium, iron ore and thermal coal. The Kazakh government owns a 40% stake, while the remaining 60% is privately held.
