China Northern Rare Earth hikes Q2 RE concentrate prices

China Northern Rare Earth (Group) High-Tech Co., Ltd. and Bao Gang United Steel Co., Ltd. have announced a significant increase in the transaction price of rare earth concentrate for the second quarter of 2026.
Under the revised pricing, the Q2 price is set at RMB38,804/t (USD5,679/t), Ex-VAT (dry basis, REO=50%). For every 1% change in REO content, the price will adjust by RMB776.08/t (USD113/t). This represents a 44.61% quarter-on-quarter increase compared with Q1 2026.
The latest adjustment marks the largest single-quarter increase since the pricing mechanism reform in 2023, and extends a streak of seven consecutive quarterly price hikes dating back to Q4 2024.
