China Northern Rare Earth (Group) High-Tech Co., Ltd. plans to form a joint venture with Ningbo Fonne Rare Earth New Materials Co., Ltd. to build a 10,000tpa rare earth metal alloy production project. The project will be carried out by the newly established joint venture, Northern Fonne New Materials (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd.
The JV will have a registered capital of RMB220 million (USD32.04 million), with Northern Rare Earth contributing RMB112 million (USD16.31 million) for a 51% stake and Ningbo Fonne contributing RMB108 million (USD15.73 million) for 49%.
The new project, with a total planned investment of about RMB290 million (USD42.24 million), will construct a rare earth metal alloy production line and associated facilities, with construction expected to take one year.
The project will focus on producing cerium meta, Ce-Pr-Nd alloys, ferro-dysprosium alloys, and ferro-holmium alloys, covering both high-purity base alloys and functional alloys containing elements such as dysprosium and terbium.
