Three lithium iron phosphate (LFP) projects of Wanhua Chemical Group have recently received environmental impact assessment (EIA) approvals from Yantai Ecological Environment Bureau.
The Laizhou project, implemented by Wanhua Chemical (Yantai) Battery Industry Co., Ltd., is located in Yinhai Chemical Industrial Park in Laizhou, covering a land area of 557 Mu (about 37 hectares). At full capacity, it will produce 650,000tpa of battery-grade LFP via high-temperature solid-phase process, using iron phosphate and lithium carbonate as raw materials.
Meanwhile, Wanhua Chemical (Haiyang) Battery Materials Technology Co., Ltd. plans to build Phase II and Phase III LFP projects at Wanhua Green Power Industrial Park in Haiyang. Each phase will include five 40,000tpa production lines for a planned capacity of 200,000tpa. Once completed, the complex will have a total production capacity of 500,000tpa of battery-grade LFP.
