Chengxin Lithium to take full control of Murong lithium mine

Chengxin Lithium Group announced that it plans to acquire the remaining 13.93% equity interest in Yajiang Huirong Mining Co., Ltd. for RMB1.26 billion (USD182 million) in cash through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sichuan Chengtun Lithium Industry Co., Ltd., from Xiamen Chuangyi Shengtun New Energy Industry Investment Partnership (Limited Partnership). Following the transaction, Chengxin Lithium will hold 100% ownership of Huirong Mining.
Huirong Mining holds the mining license for Murong lithium mine, which has a designed mining capacity of 3 million tonnes per year, corresponding to approximately 75,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate (LCE). The mine also contains associated niobium and tantalum resources.
According to verified data, the Murong mine contains 989,600 tonnes of lithium oxide resources at 1.62% Li2O, making it one of the highest-grade lithium mines in Sichuan. It also hosts 5,888 tonnes of niobium pentoxide at 0.01% Nb2O5 and 3,013 tonnes of tantalum pentoxide at 0.005% Ta2O5. Mine development and construction are currently in progress.
